Moving a family home in Esher
Many Esher homes have more rooms, longer drives and more valuable furniture than a typical London flat. We ask about access, heavy items and anything fragile when you book, so the right team and enough protection arrive on the day.
- Photos on WhatsApp — send us photos of large or unusual items and we confirm what is included
- Drive or road — we check where the van can stop, so loading is quick and safe
- Fragile items — glass, mirrors and pictures packed and kept apart from heavy furniture
- Fixed price — agreed before the day, no surprises if the move matches your booking

How we look after your furniture in Esher
Sofas, tables and wardrobes are wrapped in thick blankets and stretch film before they leave the room, boxes are labelled by room, and everything is unwrapped where it belongs at the new house.

Moving home in Esher: what to know
Esher is a mix of busy high-street roads, quiet residential streets with driveways and riverside terraces with tight parking. A few things are worth knowing before moving day.
Parking for the van
Many Esher, Claygate and Hinchley Wood homes have a drive the van can use. Riverside roads in Thames Ditton and Molesey are tighter, so there we may suggest reserving a space. Surrey County Council handles bay suspensions and yellow-line waivers (fees in the FAQ below). Surrey County Council guidance →
Race days at Sandown Park
Sandown Park racecourse sits right next to Esher town centre. Race days and big events make the A307 Portsmouth Road much busier, so if your date clashes we plan an earlier start or another route.
Claygate & Hinchley Wood
Mostly residential roads, many homes with driveways. If the van can use your drive, you usually need no parking suspension. Tell us about narrow gates, low walls or gravel.
Thames Ditton & Molesey
Older terraces and riverside streets with tighter on-street parking. Here we are more likely to suggest reserving a space close to the door.

Roads & routes we plan around
From our Twickenham base we usually cross Hampton Court Bridge and take the A309 towards Esher. Inside Esher the A307 Portsmouth Road runs through the High Street, and the A3 Esher bypass is the fast way to Claygate, Cobham and London. We avoid the busiest times on Portsmouth Road wherever we can.

You can still move. Tell us the date and we plan the start time and route around the extra traffic on Portsmouth Road.
